This is my Spanish teacher, Gabriela. I study with her about 10 hours a week.
Because I’d rather shoot myself in the face than sit around conjugating verbs and making vocabulary flash cards, a lot of our classes are “excursions.”
Last week, we took the train to San Isidro (about 20 minutes outside the city) to visit the estate of Victoria Ocampo, who was the eccentric but super-cool editor of a literary magazine called Sur.
Then we ate sushi, which Argentina is NOT known for. It still beat learning the preterite imperfect or whatever the hell people do in Spanish class.
